Apartment-Hotel am Rathaus is the perfect base for an exploration of Düsseldorf on foot. Uerige, Zum Schluessel, with local Altbier in the famous history breweries; it’s all within five minutes. The place is also teeming with restaurants claiming to serve something or the other in almost every genre from Schweine Janes offering classic German fare to the rest of the world. Ten minutes’ walk and you’ll change sceneries completely with the ultra-modern Königsallee - Europe’s leading boulevard dedicated to luxury shopping.
Art lovers and culture vultures have landed where they want to be. The K20 art museum of the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen is only ten minutes’ walking distance, exhibiting an incredible collection of modern art. Walk to the historic Neander Church or take in the great Carlsplatz Market, a wonderful daily market with fresh produce and gourmet food stalls – both are just outside the doorstep. All practical needs from local bakers for breakfast and small supermarkets are around the corner.
